compensation Philosophy: Candidates & Employees
Read the drop-down menu below for information about our compensation philosophy.
PROVAIL’s Compensation Program, a component of our Total Rewards program, is designed to attract, motivate, and retain talented employees who support PROVAIL’s mission, vision and values and drive our success. We empower our management team to use compensation as a tool to support, reinforce, and align our values, business strategy, operational, and financial needs with a goal of growth and profitability for our employees and the organization.
In alignment with PROVAIL’s culture, we will strive to communicate openly about the goals of the organization and compensation decisions, administering the program in a manner that is consistent and free of discrimination. The compensation process is intended to be fair and transparent so that all employees and people leaders understand the goals and outcomes of the process.
- Market focus: We evaluate total compensation opportunity for our jobs against local market data, with a focus on data from nonprofit/social services industry, similar size, and number of employees. Our rewards program is driven by organizational needs, our Compensation Philosophy, and external market data to ensure we are competitive.
- Agency performance: We consider achievement of organizational goals and the agency’s ability to pay based on profitability and market conditions.
- Internal equity: We consider internal equity in our pay decision-making process.
- Education and transparency: We provide direction, education, and transparent information to managers and employees to ensure consistency and fairness and to employees to enable them to better understand the value of their total rewards package.
- Compensation: Base pay and variable pay (e.g., spot bonus).
- Comprehensive health and life benefits: Including medical, dental, vision, employee assistance program (EAP), paid time off, 403 (b), employer paid life insurance, and other health and wellness programs when applicable.
- Paid time off: We provide all employees with generous vacation accrual. We also provide personal holidays in lieu of federal holidays that employees can use for observances that are most important to them.
- Perks and lifestyle: We encourage work life integration so employees can balance family and work commitments.
- Professional development: PROVAIL supports continued education and professional development of employees as it relates to an employee’s current role and performance in alignment with PROVAIL’s business goals. The professional development budget is determined and managed at the department level.
The goal of the promotion process is to empower employees to be in control of their careers. PROVAIL believes that employees should be responsible for their career planning and advancement.
